Gepromoveerd in 2023? Doe mee aan de NL-NMD Thesis Awards van Spierziekten Centrum Nederland en haar talentprogramma de neuroMuscular YOung Scientists (MYOS)

Met deze jaarlijkse prijzen willen we de prestaties op het neuromusculaire gebied in Nederland van jong talent stimuleren en belichten. Tijdens het jaarlijkse Symposium Neuromusculaire Ziekten op 11-12 januari 2024 worden deze prijzen uitgereikt aan het beste klinische en pre-klinische proefschrift. Elke prijs omvat een onderscheiding en € 500. Alle doctorandi die hun neuromusculaire proefschrift in 2023 hebben verdedigd of zullen verdedigen, worden uitgenodigd om deel te nemen.

Voor deelname:

1. Een pdf-versie van het proefschrift. (Het proefschrift moet een verdedigingsdatum hebben in 2023)
2. Een motivatiebrief van maximaal 300 woorden waarin zowel de belangrijkste conclusies als de wetenschappelijke en maatschappelijke impact worden beschreven.
3. Je PhD portfolio met daarin de lijst van de activiteiten die zijn gerelateerd aan het project en proefschrift zoals publicaties en presentaties (max 2 A4).
4. Een aanbevelingsbrief van maximaal 300 woorden van bijvoorbeeld een begeleider of collega.
5. Vermelding of je wenst deel te nemen aan de klinische of pre-klinische award.

De NL-NMD Thesis Award Commissie selecteert de twee beste proefschriften op basis van hun wetenschappelijke impact, maatschappelijke impact, patiëntenparticipatie en internationale waardering.

NL-NMD Thesis Awards

After the last three successful years, the Netherlands Neuromuscular Center (NL-NMD; Spierziekten Centrum Nederland) and their young talent program MYOS are proud to present the third edition of NL-NMD Thesis awards!

These awards have the ambition to stimulate and highlight the greatest accomplishments in the Dutch neuromuscular field by young talent on a yearly basis.
During the annual NL-NMD symposium on neuromuscular diseases on the 11-12 th of January 2024 these prizes will be awarded to the best clinical and pre-clinical thesis in the neuromuscular field. Each prize includes an award and € 500,- . All PhD’s who have defended or will defend their neuromuscular thesis in 2023 are invited to participate. The applicant is free to decide for which
(clinical or pre-clinical) award they wish to participate.

Requirements for participation:

1. A PDF version of the thesis.
2. An application letter in English of max 300 words describing the major conclusions as well as the scientific and societal impact.
3. A PhD portfolio with activities related to the project and the thesis such as publications and presentations (Max 2 A4).
4. A letter of recommendation of max. 300 words. The applicant is free to decide who will provide the letter (eg. from a supervisor, colleague).
5. Indication whether he/she wishes to participate for the clinical or the pre-clinical thesis award.

The NL-NMD award committee will select the two best theses based on their scientific impact, societal impact, patient participation, and international esteem. If you are aware of a potential candidate please forward this invitation.
