Clinical geneticist

I graduated from medical school at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. My training for clinical geneticist was done in Groningen at the University Medical Center where I became a staff member in 1995 at the department of Genetics. In the last 20 years I specialized in neurogenetics and neuromuscular disorders and became an active member of the neuromuscular polyclinic mainly in the diagnostic phase. As a clinical geneticist I am also involved in the counseling of parents en family members. I am the chairman of the working group neurogenetics of the Dutch society of clinical geneticist. As a clinical genetic consultant I work 2 weeks a year in the hospitals of Paramaribo in Dutch Guyana.
